What is Lolita Fashion?

Lolita is a type fashion that comes from Japan,that tries to capture youth and often can be visually compared to victorian style fashion in many ways. Lolitas will often be seen sporting beautiful ruffled dresses with bow details and matching accessories.
Although lolita is a fashion style of it's own there are many genres of the style such as;

 Sweet Lolita: The most kawaii type of lolita, very childlike and cute often includes colours like peach, light pinks, blues and pastel colours. Pairing big frilly skirts with white blouses and adorable bonnets makes sweet lolitas cute enough to eat. Alice in Wonderland is a popular theme along with animals, fruit and flowers. 

Classic Lolita: Also known as country lolita, this style of loli is very mature and almost regal looking. The sophisticated look mainly entails pale colours and browns. It will usually have intricate detailing and empire waistlines. Make-up is simple and natural with hints of colour.

Gothic Lolita: Sometimes shortened to Gothic loli, combines the two both visually beautiful styles of goth and lolita and is undoubtedly reminiscent of traditional victorian mourning garments. Make-up is worn thick and dark with red and black undertoned lipstick.
